Mild Weather Conditions Predicted for Start of New Year

Happy New Year! For most people, 2021 is a welcome change as we enter the New Year with optimism and hope following a year that was anything but normal. 2021 is already off to a good start as Mother Nature also seems prepared to cooperate with warmer temperatures than usual around most of the nation. According to The Weather Channel, temperatures across much of the United States will be milder than average for the remainder of winter and into the start of spring.

Even though the long-range prediction calls for milder weather, that’s not a reason to put your guard down. Here are four tips to prepare your property for the winter:

Check Your HVAC. Make sure you inspect all HVAC systems to ensure they are in good operation and are on a regular preventative maintenance program.

Have a Plan. Be ready for snow or freezing temperatures and have a plan to prevent pipes from freezing. Take care of issues quickly, calling in experts before little issues become large problems that require more time and expense to resolve.

Winterize Your Irrigation. Ensure that all sprinkler systems are winterized before the first freeze to prevent frozen or burst pipes that can lead to costly water damage.

Partner with a Good Company. Maintain a list of preferred vendors who can help you if you have damage. Work with a company like Roadrunner who can help you put a plan in place to mitigate and respond to crises.

After property damage occurs, every hour is critical. Delays in response can significantly increase the financial impact of the loss. Ensure that whatever company you are working with provides you priority response so you can be assured that you’ll receive timely action.
